The Burkert 8223 conductivity transmitter is an upgrade from the 8228 model. The 8223 model features an IP65 splash-proof plastic housing. The Burkert sensor consists of a pair of electromagnetic coils with PP, PVDF, or PEEK housings.
To measure conductivity, an AC power supply is applied to the primary coil, inducing a magnetic field that generates a current in the secondary coil. The strength of this induced current directly reflects the conductivity of the solution.
A Burkert temperature sensor for automatic temperature compensation is included, housed within the sensor housing.
The 8223 model is a 3-wire transmitter requiring a 12-30V DC power supply. This Burkert transmitter offers a standard 4-20mA output signal proportional to the medium's conductivity or temperature and is available with various stainless steel, brass, and plastic connectors.

Type 8228 - Inductive Conductivity Meter: The Burkert 8228 inductive conductivity meter can be used in harsh conditions across various industrial sectors and is suitable for measuring concentrated liquids, such as acid, alkali, or salt solutions, over a wide measurement range.
Suitable applications include: cooling water monitoring (eg, dilution control), industrial water treatment, and clean liquid identification in CIP processes.
The 8228 model has two versions: - One is the standard version with a G 2” interface, mounted on a Type S020 fitting; - The second is the CIP version with a 2” chuck interface, compliant with ASME BPE (1.5” chuck available upon request).
