Features of the Pearson 8585C and 8590C fast clamp current transformers: Pearson Electronics is pleased to introduce two new wideband articulated clamp current monitors with fast rise times.

The 8585C and 8590C models feature rise times of 2.0 and 2.5 nanoseconds, 1/2-inch and 1-inch apertures, and a hinged design for easy handling.

The new design integrates Pearson's wideband frequency response into a detachable configuration for securing the conductor. Both models offer a sensitivity of 1.0 V/A and a 3dB bandwidth from approximately 1.0 kHz to 200 MHz.

All Pearson clamp current monitor models have an initial impulse response accuracy of ±1% or higher and can operate with high impedance loads (eg, 1 megohm in parallel with 20 pF). A 50-ohm termination will reduce the output by half.

Unless otherwise specified, all models listed below are equipped with BNC connectors and are used with 50-ohm coaxial cable.

The current monitor housing is conductive but not insulated. Adequate insulation must be provided on the conductor being monitored. To avoid electric shock, do not install or remove the current monitor from a live conductor.
