A total of nine CPU unit models can be used in a wide range of applications, from small systems to large systems. The product family also includes memory cards, serial communication boards and various high-function I/O units that can be used with any CPU unit to flexibly create systems that meet these requirements.

Two expansion device series, up to 50m in length, suitable for long-distance expansion, can include up to 72 units and 7 devices

With the expansion capacity of up to 80 units and 7 devices within a 12m distance, CS1 can meet large-scale control needs. Alternatively, one I/O control unit and multiple I/O interface units can be used to connect two series of CS1 long-distance expansion devices (up to 50m extension and up to 72 units and 7 devices in total). The CS1 Basic I/O Unit, CS1 High-Function I/O Unit, and CS1 CPU Bus Unit can be installed anywhere in the device and can be programmed without special remote programming requirements. Note: The C200H unit cannot be installed in a long-distance expansion unit.

Control up to 960 points when installing the unit to the CPU unit

CS1 Improves advanced space efficiency. Only 10 basic I/O units (96 I/O points each) need to be installed to the CPU unit to control up to 960 I/O points. Alternatively, up to 80 analog I/O points can be controlled by holding down five analog input units and five analog output units.

Improved refresh capability for data links, remote I/O communication, and protocol macros

Previously, I/O refresh of the cpu bus unit occurred only during I/O refresh after instruction execution. However, with the new CS1, I/O can be flushed immediately by using the DLNK instruction. Immediate refreshing of CPU bus unit-specific procedures means that the CPU bus unit's refresh responsiveness can be improved, such as procedures for data chaining and DeviceNet remote I/O communications and assigned CIO/DM area words when executing instructions.
