The SIRIUS 3RW40 soft starter combines all the advantages of the 3RW30 soft starter. The SIRIUS 3RW40 soft starter occupies a very small space. It integrates bypass contacts, allowing the thyristor (silicon controlled rectifier) to bypass after motor startup, significantly reducing heat loss. Its extremely compact structure eliminates the need for external bypass circuitry. In addition, this soft starter integrates other functions such as adjustable current limiting, motor overload and equipment self-protection, and optional motor thermal overload protection. These functions become increasingly important as the motor's rated power increases, eliminating the need to purchase and install additional protection devices such as overload relays. The equipment self-protection function prevents thyristor thermal overload, thus avoiding power unit failure. As an option, thyristors can also provide short-circuit protection via semiconductor fuses. With integrated status and fault monitoring capabilities, this soft starter also offers a variety of diagnostic options. Monitoring and diagnostics are achieved using four LEDs and relay outputs to indicate operating status and conditions such as power or phase faults, load loss, disallowed tripping time/level settings, thermal overload, or equipment failure. The soft starter is rated up to 250 kW (400 V) and can be used in standard three-phase grid applications. This soft starter offers advantages such as small size, low power consumption, and ease of commissioning.
