The SIRIUS 3RW30 soft starter reduces the motor terminal voltage through phase angle control, smoothly boosting the voltage from the starting voltage to the power supply voltage. During startup, the soft starter limits motor torque and current, reducing mechanical shock. This reduces grid voltage drop, lowers stress on connected equipment, reduces wear, and thus reduces maintenance time. Because the starting value is selectable, the soft starter can be adjusted according to specific applications, unlike star-delta starters which are limited to two-stage starting and have a fixed starting voltage. The SIRIUS 3RW30 soft starter occupies a small space and integrates bypass contacts, allowing the thyristor (SCR) to bypass after the motor starts. This significantly reduces heat loss, results in an extremely compact structure, and eliminates the need for an external bypass circuit. The soft starter has a rated power of up to 55 kW (at 400 V), is small in size, consumes little power, is easy to debug, and can be used in standard three-phase power grid applications. The compact SIRIUS 3RW30 soft starter requires only one-third the space of a star-delta contactor of equivalent power. This not only saves installation space in the control cabinet but also completely eliminates the wiring required for star-delta starters. Furthermore, the number of cables between the starter and the motor is reduced from six to three. Its compact structure, short debugging time, simple wiring, and rapid debugging give this product a significant cost advantage. The equipped electronic arc extinguishing system protects the soft starter's bypass contacts during operation, preventing damage to the bypass contacts in case of faults such as short-term interruption of control voltage, mechanical shock, or aging of the coil operating mechanism/main contact spring. For two-phase control soft starters, current from the two controlled phases flows through the uncontrolled phase, causing three-phase current asymmetry during motor startup. This also introduces a DC component, leading to significant noise when the starting voltage is less than 50%. The 3RW30 series soft starters employ a "phase balance" control method, continuously and dynamically adjusting and balancing the half-wave currents of different phases during motor startup. This not only avoids the DC component generated in two-phase control soft starters but also prevents braking torque caused by two-phase control. This results in smooth motor startup and a steady increase in speed, torque, and current. Furthermore, its starting noise level is close to that of a three-phase control soft starter. |
