The inner ring has two rows of raceways, and the outer ring raceway is spherical, with the center of curvature of the sphere coinciding with the bearing center. Therefore, the inner ring, balls, and cage can tilt freely relative to the outer ring.

This allows for automatic adjustment of axial deviations caused by machining or installation errors of the shaft and bearing housing.
