HYDAC EDS300 Series Pressure Relay Working Principle: The HYDAC pressure relay is a hydraulic-electric conversion element that uses liquid pressure to open and close electrical contacts.
When the system pressure reaches the relay's set value, it sends an electrical signal to activate electrical components (such as electromagnets, motors, time relays, electromagnetic clutches, etc.), causing oil circuit depressurization, reversal, sequential action of actuators, or shutdown of the motor to stop the system, providing safety protection.
Pressure relays are available in four structural forms: plunger, diaphragm, Bourdon tube, and bellows.
The working principle of the plunger-type pressure relay (see figure) is described below: When the liquid pressure entering from the oil inlet 3 at the lower end of the relay reaches the set pressure value, it pushes the plunger 2 upward.
This displacement is amplified by the lever and then actuates the micro switch 4. Changing the compression of spring 1 can adjust the operating pressure of the HYDAC relay. HYDAC applications: Used for safety protection, controlling the sequential operation of actuators, starting and stopping pumps, and unloading pumps.
HYDAC Note: The pressure relay must be placed in a location with significant pressure changes to output an electrical signal.
If the pressure relay is placed on the return oil line, since the return oil line is directly connected back to the oil tank and the pressure does not change, the HYDAC pressure relay will not work.
